A quilted top with several layers of Egyptian cotton as backing/filler — heavier than a sheet, lighter than a blanket.
My house runs cool with central air. A single sheet is too light most nights, but a full blanket runs hot — especially in summer. The goal: something with *weight* and a touch of warmth, without the heat load.
Press all fabric before cutting to avoid warped squares.
Square up edges; rotary cut 5×5 in pieces. Keep accent stack separate.
Audition a 4×4 layout. Sprinkle coffee squares as rare accents.
Chain-piece rows; press seams to alternate sides for nesting.
Top + cotton layers + back. Baste with pins or spray.
Straight-line grid. Trim; attach binding; hand-finish.
Live build. I’ll update this page as I cut, assemble, and quilt. If you try a “sheet quilt,” tell me what filler stack worked for you.
